The email and answers to the theme question from Episode #64. It comes from Craig in L.A.:

Robert & Mike,

First, just wanted to thank you for another stellar episode of RFJ.

Yes, episode #50 passed without much fanfare, but celebrating 64 makes sense.
I was surprised with the opening fanfare of Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’. Something was definitely afoot – I wasn’t buying the free-form “playing whatever” theme. Especially after Dream Academy AND The Police referenced JFK and the Beatles.

All things being equal, this is a tight playlist. Well done.

Beyonce – Crazy In Love. Hova spits – “A star like Ringo” also, “Love” is the name of the Beatles Cirque show

Dream Academy – Life In a Northern Town

Police – Born In the 50’s

EMI/Abbey Road Studios in the News

The Who – The Seeker “I asked Bobby Dylan, I asked The Beatles. I asked Timothy Leary But he couldn't help me either.”

Monkees – Rany Souse Git “The four kings of E.M.I. are sitting stately on the floor”

Temptations – Ball Of Confusion “The new Beatles album’s a gas.”

U2 – God (Part II) “Don't believe in Goldman, his type like a curse. Instant karma's going to get him, if I don't get him first.”

You guys kind of gave it all away here with talking about the book.

The song is “Part II” because John Lennon wrote ‘God’ – in which he sings “I don’t believe in Kennedy… don’t believe in Beatles.”

Waylon Jennings – Never Been to Spain “…never been to England but I kinda like the Beatles”

Brad Paisley – American Saturday Night “Listen to the Beatles singing Back in the USSR”

Clash – London Calling “Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust.”

Air – Brakes On “…but in the North of England on the banks of the River Mercy in Liverpool…Beatlemania had arrived”

Nice Job Craig, Ben Gravy and my Dad for guessing correctly!

When we started recording this episode, we realized that we didn't plan the music too well. We took a breath and let the Spirits of Music guide us and by the end of the show, we realized we had a theme. All the songs are connected somehow!

If you think you know the common thread between ALL the songs we played, send an email to RadioFreeJersey@gmail.com and you could win a soon to be released Radio Free Jersey T-Shirt!

Here a few hints:

- 4 out of 5 of the "sweepers" between songs relate
- The Special Bonus track has a HUGE hint

EVEN MORE BONUS!!

If you can tell us the lyric that relates in EACH song, someone could win a $25 iTunes gift certificate!
